Challenging myself ...

So I've played along with other blogs and their challenges, and I might not have the traffic for my OWN kind of challenge, but I have decided to start my own. Even if its for my own satisfaction...
here goes.

I'm going to try and do 1 week of a song title, or song lyric inspiration project. Whether its a card, layout, or anything.

I have had lots of time to think about this, and I truly believe that crafting is my therapy. When things get crazy here, or unbearable, instead of picking up that bottle of Jack, gimme some paper and some glue, and I am on cloud nine. heh.

If anyone would like to play along, I'm thinking I could gather up some things for a prize for a winner. Winner will be picked at random by a generator.
SO.... here we go...

A completely random song will be picked for each day.
BUT, for this week, I think I'll go with a specific decade. Let's do ......

I came across a digital scrapbook challenege, and thought I'd give it a try.
It's 'all about me' page, and even though I didn't include EVERY LAST LITTLE THING, I think its cheery & cute!
Besides, who really wants to read about EVERYTHING?! My own husband doesnt know everything!!

Looks like it's moooooving time!

Well, after waiting, praying & begging for a change of some sort, we got an answer...
As of now, the Boss Man has orders for Fort Lewis, WA...

whoa.
major change.

We got what we asked for, right?

Well, From here, its over 2600 miles, and I am dreading each & every one of those miles.
On top of that, looks like we'll have to make that haul in Jaunary.

I am at the point where I am excited about the new move, the new changes, BRAND new state & a new start.
What I am not ready for is the preparation & selling of this house.
I am hoping that since sales & market are BAD out here, that the charm, beauty & historic features of this place gets it sold ... and sold FAST..

If anyone knows more about the area of Fort Lewis, or WA in gereral, PLEASE inform me!!
We're looking at the idea of purchasing another house out there, and already looking in the Olympia area.
i know, i know... buy again!?

YES.
Why? Becuse we cannot do base housing again because it's too small & we just dont want to.
Rent? no. to us, its just wasting money.
Buy? um.. yea! We get to make our own decisions about things with the house, and not have to rely on a landlord to deal with issues, or anything like that...
so... we're gonna buy.
PLEASE say a prayer that this place sells quickly, and if anything, we just break even & not under our price.

Birthday COD ..heh.

I love this card!!!

I sometimes find it hard to create something when I 'have' to. Like make something on demand.
The creative process isn't as easy for me...

BUT, I'm learning to work thru that with the big family we have, and there are ALWAYS birthdays!! I think my family is starting to 'expect' the handmade cards from me. I do SO many, and have so many supplies to do them, well, why not just share the love & joy & REALLY start mailing them out?!

So, here it is.
My sister in law, Melissa's, birthday 'COD' ... get it? Cod? fish? heh. in a fish bowl. heh.

Her birthday is on September 11th, and even tho that's a day that we all still mourn on, that's still her day of birth, and I wanna make it happy for her!
Hope you enjoy it! It took me a LOOOONG time to come up with & create, but I love it nonetheless!

A double golden birthday!

Mason & Ronnie turned 7, August 7th...a golden birthday!

It is so hard to believe that my little 'babies' are now 7... I know everyone says it, but really; where does the time go?

When I found out I was pregnant with these boogers, the Boss Man said right away 'its twins'... I about dotted his eye.
Since he was adopted, and don't know his family medical history, we decided again, to do all the testing for all sorts of things to make sure things were OK, and baby(ies) were healthy...

We had the triple marker test done. Basically tests for abnormalities... it came back positive. The doctor assured us that it means either one child with spinabifida, or there's multiples.
Of course, being a mother, my heart sank, I panicked, and I was a mess. Boss Man was cool through it all. He kept saying 'I told you there's nothing to worry about... it's twins. TRUST me.'
That was on a Friday. I was 4mo along.

ALL that weekend, there were all sorts of 'signs', and 'things' happening that told me there were TWO. Songs on the radio, cartoons the other 2 boogers would watch on tv... just little things all weekend long.

Then it was Monday morning.
We showed up extra early for our ultrasound, said a prayer, and got the goo on my belly...
The tech just smiled, looked down at me, and said 'I wanna show you why your test came back positive...'
She turned that little screen around, and lookie there... TWO of the cutest little round heads you have EVER seen!

My little fraternal babies were born 5 weeks early, and spent 9 whole days in the NICU. Those were the hardest 9 days in my life.

As early as they were, their weight was AWESOME, and got them out of 'hock' sooner.

Timothy Mason weighed in at 6lbs, 11oz

Ronald Wilson weighed in at 6lbs, 2oz

'sasquatch' babies... heh.

We were SO happy they were so healthy, and didn't have nearly the issues that premie babies typically have.

Since they came home, they have done nothing but thrive, and grow like little boys should!

Since Ronnie was the 'weaker' one of the duo, we always thought he would be the one that struggled with health things...no. Poor 'May-May' does.

Mason has serious allergy problems, and luckily only has one food allergy. Mango.

Not so bad, right...well ... Mango is a sweetener in a LOT of things, and it seems to be EVERYWHERE!!! Poor may. Epi pen is our friend. Never had to use it, but we have it!

The only thing Ronnie struggled with was a hyrdocele (sp?!) hernia, that required surgery, and bad choking. Later, like his momma, them tonsils had to come OUT! At least he had his removed while he was a kid. Mine? Yea, 26 years old...

ANYWAY... here are some pics of the twinners, twinadoes, monsters, dynamic duo, etc. through the years.

Happy 7th Birthday my angel face lovies! I am so happy to be your mommy! You two have made our family more complete than you'll ever know.
